CDG is an approved BIFMA level certifier in India.
CDG is an accredited certification body for the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association’s (BIFMA) LEVEL® certification, providing manufacturers with third-party certification of their sustainable products.  
Furniture and furnishings products proposed in response to this request shall be independently third-party certified as compliant with the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard at LEVEL 1 or higher. Signed documentation of LEVEL certification by a third-party certification body licensed to participate in the BIFMA LEVEL program shall be provided. 
Examples of acceptable documentation include signed certificates of compliance from a licensed third-party certification body, as defined at LEVEL certified third-party. 
In the event there are not more than two manufacturers with LEVEL certification on a required type of product at the time the responses are due, the requirement for Level certification on the affected product type(s) may be waived. 
Furniture and furnishings subject to LEVEL certification includes, but is not limited to, movable/full-height walls, systems furniture, desking systems, benching systems, case goods, storage cabinets, bookcases, file cabinets, desks, tables, screens, seating of all types, and related accessories. 
Certification Criteria 
Qualification for LEVEL® certification under the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard requires conformance with criteria under four specific categories: 

• Materials 
• Energy and Atmosphere 
• Human and Ecosystem Health 
• Social Responsibility

BIFMA is an ANSI Accredited Standards developer and supports the ANSI mission of promoting and facilitating voluntary consensus standards and conformity assessment systems and ensuring their integrity. Only ANSI-Accredited Standards Developers may submit standards through the ANSI approval process. The ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard was first published in 2008 and remains the leading standard for the assessment of environmental, health and wellness, and social impacts pertinent to furniture products. It remains the leading furniture sustainability standard and has been adopted by countries around the world. 
Environmentally and socially responsible products and manufacturing are in demand. Furniture that meets the criteria established in the e3 furniture sustainability standard also meets demands of environmentally focused purchasing. To easily identify these products BIFMA established the LEVEL furniture sustainability certification and the LEVEL product registry.  
The American National Standards Institute works to develop and assure the safety and health of consumers and the environment by overseeing the creation and use of norms and guidelines that directly impact business. ANSI is also actively engaged in accrediting programs that assess conformance to both quality and environmental management systems. 
Evaluated by third-party certifiers, products are measured against the multi-attribute criteria defined in the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard and listed in an industry-wide public product registry. The LEVEL mark demonstrates that the product, the manufacturing facility, and the company responsible for the product brand, have achieved the necessary requirements for certification.

LEVEL is an evaluation and certification system for environmentally-preferable and socially-responsible office furniture. The LEVEL program has three performance tiers; LEVEL 1, 2, and 3. The higher the number, the more criteria considered and met.  
What is BIFMA? 
BIFMA level certification is a voluntary standard for business and institutional furniture manufacturers. The standard establishes measurable criteria for multiple levels of achievement and performance for manufacturers at different stages of their sustainability journey. Manufacturers that achieve level certification demonstrate to the marketplace that their products, manufacturing facilities and company policies have met stringent third-party sustainability requirements. 
BIFMA level certification applicants can pursue credits in four categories: Materials, Energy and Atmosphere, Human and Ecosystem Health, and Social Responsibility. Each category features prerequisites as well as credits related to products, manufacturing facilities and the organization as a whole. 
Based on the points accumulated, manufacturers can earn one of three possible levels of certification: 
level 1 – 32-44 points level 2 – 45-62 points level 3 – 63-100 points for BIFMA

The ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard takes into account a company’s social actions, energy usage, material selection, and human and ecosystem health impacts. The LEVEL brand identifies that a product has been vetted by an independent third-party certifier and its numeric marking 1, 2, or 3 indicates what threshold of the standard it has achieved. BIFMA’s LEVEL Certification Program is included in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Recommended Specifications, Standards and Ecolabels for federal furniture purchasing.

Differentiating through a BIFMA LEVEL certification 
As an accredited certification body for the BIFMA LEVEL® certification, we help business and institutional furniture manufacturers build trust in the marketplace. 
LEVEL certification is a voluntary standard that establishes measurable criteria for multiple levels of achievement and performance at different stages of their sustainability journey. Manufacturers that achieve LEVEL certification demonstrate to the marketplace that their products, manufacturing facilities and company policies have met stringent third-party sustainability requirements. 
Levels of BIFMA certification 
LEVEL certification applicants can pursue credits in three categories: Environmental Impacts, Health and Wellness Impacts, and Social Impacts. Each category features prerequisites as well as credits related to products, manufacturing facilities and the organization as a whole. 
Based on the points accumulated, manufacturers can earn one of three possible levels of certification: 
1. 32 to 48 total points; at least 5 of which are product-related points 
2. 49 to 68 total points; at least 16 of which are product-related points 
3. 69 to 111 total points; at least 26 of which are product-related points 
It is strongly desired that the furniture and furnishings products proposed in response to this request for proposal are independently third-party certified as compliant with the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard at LEVEL 1 or higher. Those products certified at LEVEL 1 or higher would receive preference over non-certified product. 
Are the proposed products certified at LEVEL 1 or higher? If yes, examples of acceptable documentation include signed certificates of compliance from a licensed third-party certification body, as defined at LEVEL certified third-party. 
If the products are not certified, outline your efforts towards achieving BIFMA LEVEL certification for the proposed products. 
Furniture and furnishings subject to LEVEL certification includes, but is not limited to, movable/full-height walls, systems furniture, desking systems, benching systems, case goods, storage cabinets, bookcases, file cabinets, desks, tables, screens, seating of all types, and related accessories.
