CDG provides accredited NAAC Green audit services in India.

CDG is an ISO 17020 accredited inspection body. There are a number of benefits to a firm undertaking a green audit. Some of the benefits are obvious, while others are less easy to identify. Two of the more easily recognized benefits are increased management effectiveness cost savings These will be discussed in turn, and then some of the other, less obvious, benefits will be covered briefly.

A Green audit can enable management personnel to become aware of many green issues of which they formerly may have been less well informed. This is especially the case in organizations with multiple facilities or with large manufacturing operations, where the senior managers and directors are often located at a distance, for example, in the head office.

Managers may not have visited many of the sites where there are obvious green risks and, even if they have, they may not have the appropriate knowledge or training to identify that risks are present. The use of green audits can provide management with the confidence that any actual or potential risks have been identified. However, auditing by itself does not improve green performance.

A Green audit merely provides a 'snap-shot' of what is happening at that moment in time, and doesn't help to ensure ongoing management effectiveness and the proper operation of systems and procedures. As a tool which aids decision-making and management control, a green audit is often carried out as part of an overall green management system.

A Green audit should identify opportunities for improvements in an organization's management, and this will often lead to savings in spending. This is particularly common in the case of 'issue' audits, such as the water or waste audit.
The benefits of Green auditing described so far are largely financial, and can be measured directly.

Environmental compliance audit – evaluates a company’s environmental performance and environmental responsibility practices, whether the company has complied with legal requirements and other requirements such as ISO 14001. It is usually the most comprehensive and, perhaps, the most expensive.

Benefits of an environmental/Green audit:
  • Protect the environment and natural resources that are vital to your universities.
  • Stay compliant with the current environmental and energy laws
  • Address current or potential future problems that may arise
  • Identify potential cost savings from waste minimization and other activities
  • Show your commitment to environmental protection to your customers.
Green/Environmental auditing and certification services will provide you with third-party verification of your institute's green initiatives and improvements. Our experienced environmental auditors will help you work to lower energy and raw materials use, reduce waste and pollution, and mitigate risks of accidents and emergency situations. Your business will not only be greener, it will also be more efficient and productive.

CDG provides accredited NAAC Green audit services in Mumbai.

CDG is an ISO 17020 accredited inspection body & our accreditation board is a full member of ILAC. Moreover, we are accredited to conduct a ‘Green Audit’ & the same can be verified in our ‘approved accreditation scope’.
Our green audit is based on the major environmental acts/policies of India (established by the union/state government) which are applicable to educational institutions, international norms & environmental best practices. We follow following acts & related regulations / policies:
The Environment (Protection) Act, 1986; Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974; Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 Energy Conservation Act, 2001 Hazardous Waste Management Rules-2016 The Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980; The Wildlife Protection Act, 1972; The Indian Forest Act, 1927 The biological Diversity Act 2002 ASOSAI (The Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) Guidance on ‘environmental audit’.

What are the types of environmental audits?
Three main types of environmental audits:
Environmental compliance audit – evaluates a company’s environmental performance and environmental responsibility practices, whether the company has complied with legal requirements and other requirements such as ISO 14001. It is usually the most comprehensive and, perhaps, the most expensive.
Environmental management audit – verifies whether the company has met the environmental objectives, policies, and performance set by management.
Functional environmental audit – focuses on one element or impact of a particular activity, such as wastewater management audits, materials, and air quality monitoring.
An auditor will arrive at your university at a scheduled time. university members and staff are encouraged to participate and gain hands-on insight into the process and the opportunities. Where feasible, a blower door unit will be used to depressurize the building to help identify air leaks. Our auditor will walk around the building outside and inside, room by room, and look at:
where energy efficiency could be improved,
where potential air quality concerns are,
where water resources could be saved,
where waste could be diverted, and
where operations of the building could be improved to save money and efforts.

Green audit can be a useful tool for a university to determine how and where they are using the most energy or water or resources; the University can then consider how to implement changes and make savings. It can also be used to determine the type and volume of waste, which can be used for a recycling project or to improve waste minimization plan.

Green auditing and the implementation of mitigation measures is a win-win situation for all the University, the learners and the planet. It can also create health consciousness and promote environmental awareness, values and ethics. It provides staff and students better understanding of Green impact on campus. Green auditing promotes financial savings through reduction of resource use. It gives an opportunity for the development of ownership, personal and social responsibility for the students and teachers.

In today's world, environmental concerns have become increasingly significant, and building design and construction have become a vital aspect of environmental sustainability. As a result, there is a growing demand for green building audits and certifications to ensure that buildings are designed, constructed, and operated in an environmentally friendly manner. This is where CDG comes in, offering a wide range of green building audit services.

What is a Green Building Audit?

A green building audit is a comprehensive review of a building's design, construction, and operation to assess its environmental impact. The audit aims to identify areas where a building can be made more energy-efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. The goal of the audit is to provide building owners and managers with a roadmap for reducing the building's carbon footprint and improving its environmental performance.

Why are Green Building Audits Important?

Green building audits are essential for several reasons. First, they help building owners and managers identify areas where their building can be made more environmentally friendly. Second, they provide a roadmap for making those improvements, including identifying cost-effective solutions that can save money in the long run. The Good Hygiene Practices certification from CDG is meant to certify food sector organizations that adhere to the Good Health Practice based on the standards of the General Principles of Food Quality and Safety Control.

CDG’s Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) certification is designed to certify organisations who comply with GHP within the food industry based on the requirements of CDG – General Principles of Food Hygiene.  It’s important to promote good hygiene management in your food supply chain. That can be achieved through auditing your supply chain processes. Good sanitary and food handling measures should go without saying but can always be improved in your production line.

GHP compliance highlights areas of concern and potential pitfalls to improve your food safety standards. Auditing will check your facilities, equipment and workspaces to ascertain what needs to improve and potential risks.

Good Health Practice certification is recommended by the Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory agencies throughout the world to make sure that a company is focused on reducing food-borne diseases and food poisoning through the implementation of food safety procedures.

It will assess and ensure the food being processed is suitable for human consumption and is the bare minimum needed to comply with regulations in the industry for hotels and restaurants. Food contamination and disease should not be taken lightly and GHP compliance will aid that consideration.

Good Hygiene Practices are guidelines for the conditions in which items should be manufactured.

Requirements for Good Hygiene Practices are related to the following:

 - The configuration and management of safe food manufacturing plants

- Cleaning and sanitization techniques

- Hygienic operation of each step of the process

GHP compliance covers the minimum sanitary and hygiene practices for food processors, such as Hotesls And restaurants, to ensure that food is safe and suitable for human consumption. GHP is a required foundation to implement other food safety Management initiatives such as GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000. The FDA and other regulatory bodies worldwide recommend GHP compliance to ensure that a company is committed to reducing food contamination and food borne diseases by implementing food safety practices.

The Hygiene Monitored program can be useful for following industries:-

1-Hotels

2- Restaurants and catering

3- Quick service restaurants

4- Food retail stores

5- Convenience stores

6- Pharmaceutical manufacturing units

 Guidelines for Verification

- Covers a wide range of activities, including reviews.

- Employees' hygiene procedures.

- Sanitation infrastructure.

- Food safety procedures.

- Avoidance of both chemical and physical risks.

- Controlling pests.

In Conclusion

Good Hygiene Practices are more or less like a supplement to Good Manufacturing Practices. This certification also defines the implementation of Good Catering Practices guideline supplements in the restaurant, catering, and cafe industries.

As a Food Business Operator, you should get a Good Hygiene Certification from CDG Company to maintain compliance with the regulatory standards.
