CDG provides green product certification in India.
Green products are typically defined by two primary goals: waste reduction and resource utilization maximization. They are made with non-toxic ingredients and environmentally friendly procedures, and they have received certifications such as Green Pro, Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), and others.
Third-party labels and green product certification programs can be useful in assessing green product attributes because they verify that the product follows such industry-independent requirements. Many product certifications are also accepted by LEED, Green Globes, and the National Green Building Standard. As a result, the need for green product certifications is increasing with the increased demand for green products.
Green Product Certifications are designed to outline and validate that a product meets a certain requirement while also providing an environmental advantage. Many product labels and certification systems certify products based on life-cycle criteria, transforming them into multi-attribute programs.
 Main objectives:
To ensure both sustainability and environmental protection.
To help the climate by reducing energy consumption.
To ensure that current state laws and other legal provisions are followed.
To ensure the physical installation of pollution-reducing devices, as well as the authentication of such devices by a competent authority.
To ensure that resources are used to their full potential.
To see whether there are any safeguards in place for liabilities resulting from accidental pollution-related losses, as well as their implementation in such situations.
To ensure that the industry has taken appropriate precautions to protect its workers from contamination caused by the industry. To make recommendations for system improvements that will foster healthy and clean environments.
CDGs Green product certification Standards Green Pro Ecolabel applies product specific ‘Ecolabel Standards’ for evaluating the products. The Ecolabel standards are developed with the support of respective product committees formed under the aegis of Green Products and Services Council.
The product committee involves all major stake holders related to the respective product category including product manufacturers, standard setters, conformity agencies, architects, user’s et al. The product committee is led by an expert who is also an unbiased specifier.
The council’s endeavor is to periodically update the standard and raise the bar. Updating of the standard will be taken up with the support of the product committee on consensus basis. Updates or addenda will be incorporated and formally communicated to the applicants.
The Certification calls for demonstration of product performance through testing as per specified standards and implementation of measures at every stage of the Life Cycle of the product, leading to clearly measurable environmental benefits.

CDG provides green product certification in India.
A green product can generally be defined as a product that, from raw material extraction and processing to use and end-of-life disposal, lessens its impact on the environment as thoroughly as possible. The objective of Green Product Certification is to assess the holistic framework and highlight the way forward to achieve excellence in environmental performance. The certification system guides the manufacturers to position their products as green and eco-friendly.

Boosts your profitability and enhance your brand
Three Pillars of Green Product Mark Certification Criteria
Prevention of pollution: manage the emission of pollutants to air and discharges to water, responsible use and disposal of toxic and hazardous chemicals, and prevent other identifiable forms of pollutions like noise, odor, and light pollution;
Sustainable use of resources: use electricity, fuels, raw and processed materials, and water more responsibly;
Climate change mitigation: measure, report and reduce the carbon footprint of products using methods well defined in internationally agreed standards.
What is audited during green product certification?
A green audit is a method of demonstrating to companies their carbon footprint and providing recommendations for reducing it. The inspection of an organization to determine the overall environmental effect of its operations, or of a specific product or procedure, is known as a green audit.
Green audits are mechanisms that companies use to determine their compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as the requirements of their various stakeholders. It can also be used to find ways to save money, improve job efficiency, increase employee health, safety, and morale, minimize liabilities, certifications, and accomplish other goals.

CDG provides natural product certification services in India.
A natural product is a natural compound or substance produced by a living organism—that is, found in nature. In the broadest sense, natural products include any substance produced by life. Natural products can also be prepared by chemical synthesis (both semi synthesis and total synthesis) and have played a central role in the development of the field of organic chemistry by providing challenging synthetic targets. The term natural product has also been extended for commercial purposes to refer to cosmetics, dietary supplements, and foods produced from natural sources without added artificial ingredients.
Within the field of organic chemistry, the definition of natural products is usually restricted to organic compounds isolated from natural sources that are produced by the pathways of primary or secondary metabolism. Within the field of medicinal chemistry, the definition is often further restricted to secondary metabolites. Secondary metabolites (or specialized metabolites) are not essential for survival, but nevertheless provide organisms that produce them an evolutionary advantage. Many secondary metabolites are cytotoxic and have been selected and optimized through evolution for use as "chemical warfare" agents against prey, predators, and competing organisms. Secondary or specialized metabolites are often unique to species, which is contrasted to primary metabolites which have broad use across kingdoms. Secondary metabolites are marked by chemical complexity which is why they are of such interest to chemists.
Product certification is a process of certifying that a certain product, process or service has fulfilled tests, quality assurance requirements and meets qualification criteria stipulated in contracts, regulations, or specifications (typically called "certification schemes" in the product certification industry).
CDG product certification services ensure that products, processes or services is to give confidence to all interested parties that a product, process or service fulfils specified requirements with the countries that you want to operate in.
CDG product certification services are the degree of confidence and trust that is established by an impartial and competent system based on ISO/IEC 17065:2012.
CDG product certification services have capabilities in the world giving confidence in products, processes or services and is a key to gain access to global markets.
Natural certification criteria
Minimum 90% of natural origin ingredients.
Organic certification criteria
Minimum 95% of the natural ingredients must come from organic farming.
Minimum 20% of the total ingredients must come from organic farming (for leave-on products)
For rinse-off, aqueous, non-emulsified products with more than 80% being minerals or mineral origin, the content of organic ingredients must be > 10%.
In 2016 alone, the global market for organic and natural cosmetics accounted for more than 11 billion euros; roughly 5.5% of the cosmetics market, with this figure expected to double by 2024.
In an industry that is constantly growing and evolving, being able to rapidly adapt to market changes and consumer demands is crucial. In recent years there has been a sharp increase in beauty brands now choosing to have their products certified as natural or organic.
In a world where people want to get back to nature, more and more consumers are in search of natural and authentic products, resulting in an increasing number of requests for ingredients from natural sources.
Nowadays, products certified as natural/organic are at an advantage as they give consumers the option of being able to make well-informed choices about the products they choose to buy and use.

CDG provides natural product certification in India.
Certified natural products
A natural product is a chemical compound or substance produced by a living organism—that is, found in nature. In the broadest sense, natural products include any substance produced by life. Within the field of organic chemistry, the definition of natural products is usually restricted to mean purified organic compounds isolated from natural sources that are produced by the pathways of primary or secondary metabolism.
In natural product certification there is no legal definition of the word "natural" for food and consumer products. The use of the term 'natural' in the list of ingredients is not permitted, except for the expression 'natural aroma', which does not contain a correct and misleading product, color, artificial flavors or synthetic substances.
To protect and equip consumers to maximize their well-being, CDG has developed the Certification of Natural Products, a set of guidelines on whether a product can truly be considered “natural”. The standard covers all regulated consumer products.
Essence of CDG Natural Product Standard
The CDG Natural Standard is based on natural components, safety, responsibility and sustainability.
Natural Ingredients: A so-called “natural mark product should consist only or at least almost exclusively of natural components and must be produced by suitable processes to preserve the purity of the content.
Security: A product labeled “natural dir. should avoid any component suspected of human health risk.
Responsibility: No animal tests should be used to develop a product labeled “natural “.
Sustainability: A “natural li labeled product should use biodegradable components and the most environmentally friendly packaging.
Under the Natural Standard for all consumer products, the permissible materials are obtained or made from a renewable source, which exists in nature (flora, fauna, mineral) and contains no petroleum compounds. Restriction of harmful chemicals and natural degradability are aimed. The standard will help you become more educated about naturally accepted content and processes.
Natural origin
All the ingredients are from natural origin except a restrictive approved ingredients list (including preservatives) authorized in small quantity.
On average, CDG certifies products contain 99% ingredients of natural origin.
Promoting Organic
A beauty care product is CDG certified only if:
95% minimum of the plants it contains are organic
At least 20% of organic ingredients are present in the total formula (10% for rinse-off products)
Note: water or minerals are not regarded as "organic" for they are not from agriculture. Since water is a major component of numerous cosmetic formulas, it implies a dilution of the proportion of organic ingredients out of the total of the product. Thus, a massage oil which does not contain water may display up to 100% of organic ingredients.
